I started drawing locomotives of note by taking on Canadian National Railway No. 7229, which is a GP9RM "port job" switcher locomotive that serves Montréal's south side. It spends a lot of time at the Pointe St. Charles yards just a few blocks from my place, and I thought it an excellent thing to make a portrait of. Want to see the real thing? Just go up to the Rue Sebastopol lookout and I bet it's there pulling rail cars, as it has for decades.

Then came Canadian Pacific Railway No. 1410 in classic CP livery, combining  mid-century paint with a century-old beaver. Next up? A late '80s VIA No. 6440 and Ontario Northland No. 1510, a locomotive that started working in June of 1952 and started taking  passengers between Cochrane and Moosonee as the Polar Bear Express in '64. Lastly, I've drawn the exact Boston & Maine No. 4268 that the Boston & Maine Railroad Historical Society has just restored.

What am I currently working on? A gorgeous green Maine Central No. 52. Have a request? Drop me a line and I'll happily consider it.
