Five Dangerous Weeds doesn’t include much descriptive text, so here’s the gist of it: it was originally the cover of a 24-page booklet published by the Manitoba Department of Agriculture in 1944, and you can read the entirety of it right here.
It was written by the H. E. Woods of the Weeds Commission and in case you’re not into reading, the weeds in question are leafy spurge, field bindweed, hoary cresses, Russian knapweed and bladder campion. Together they “comprise a group of deep-rooted persistent perennial weeds that are handled in Manitoba through a system of Weed Control Units.” Also, they have very villainous names.
A booklet cover reproduction available at 12x18" or 24x36" on Epson Enhanced Matte 192 gsm paper printed with Epson UltraChrome XD2 archival ink. Sold in an open edition, unframed.
