"Future Dictates of Fashion" print by W. Cade Gall (1893)

In 1893 the maybe pseudonymous W. Cade Gall of the Strand Magazine published a piece of fiction titled "the Future Dictates of Fashion.” Its text went on about how a gentleman in 1893 somehow came across a book predicting the next century of fashion, and nestled in that text illustrations (presumably by Gall) showed what his many words could not. You can read the whole piece of his here, and I've now arranged all three dozen of those illustrations chronologically and made them available on a single B&W print.  

I'm thinking of manifesting Gall's 1945 style this winter, but I won't hold it against you if 1937 is more your kind of thing. Special hat tip to the Public Domain Review for bringing this series of illustrations to light.
