While the artist behind this pictorial map of Jasper and Mount Robson parks is unknown, I have to wonder if they imagined its gently criss-crossed, colour-coded detail still being attractive 90 years post-publication. The dreamy mountain blues and purples fade into a vignette of Alberta's most prominent peak, Mount Edith Cavell, which looks more like the painted backdrop from some mid-century holiday movie than an official commission from CN Rail.

A reproduction available at 18x12" or 36x24" on Epson Enhanced Matte 192 gsm paper printed with Epson UltraChrome XD2 archival ink. Sold in an open edition, unframed. Restored from a digital file found in the David Rumsey Historical Map Collection.
