Governments can mess up every once in a while. Here we have a delightful mid-century booklet cover-turned-poster titled L'Aménagement du Jardin, originally published by the federal Department of Agriculture in 1965, but the cover itself neglects to include both its date of publication and publication number. The illustrator is not credited, of course, but thanks to this Publications.gc.ca digital copy we can learn a few things about it.
One: the the booklet's author is R. Warren Oliver, the same federal horticulturalist behind a few other booklets I've collected. Two: that the cover illustration is derived from a photo shown on page five in which the garden is described as under "l'influence chinoise." Three: that if you have a back yard as landscaped as the one pictured on the top of page 24, I'm coming over right away.
A booklet cover reproduction available at 12x18" or 24x36" on Epson Enhanced Matte 192 gsm paper printed with Epson UltraChrome XD2 archival ink. Sold in an open edition, unframed.
