"Ontario Weeds" print (1962)

The Agricultural Arts collection is mostly composed of Canadian federal and provincial Department of Agriculture booklet covers, and those booklets usually contain between a dozen and three dozen pages. They're slight affairs that are bound by staples, and there's something about them that feels very "Zine-y". I'd highly recommend scouring Biblio.com or Ebay to grab an original or two yourself. That said, Ontario Weeds was unique in that it was a full-on 140-page softcover. 

Did Ontario have too many weeds to fit in two dozen pages? Were Ontario weeds such a menace in '62 that they required serious prose to explain? I'm unsure, but I do know this cover is a beauty.

The Ontario Department of Agriculture wordmark on this cover has been replaced with the words ”Ontario Gardening News" due to Section 9 of the Canadian Trademarks Act.
