One of my favourite things about ancient city plans is the uncertainty. Where an old mariner's map might include a "here be dragons" on the unexplored periphery, this 1883 plan of Fort Saskatchewan includes a stretch of land labelled "disputed" exactly where the modern-day Sherritt plant stands. Also, if you're interested in my own modern take on Fort Saskatchewan, the Fort Heritage Precinct gift shop (in the Warden's Residence) has such a thing. Visit them or details.

A reproduction available at 16x12" or 24x18" on Epson Enhanced Matte 192 gsm paper printed with Epson UltraChrome XD2 archival ink. Sold in an open edition, unframed. Based on this original public domain image held by the Library & Archives Canada.
