"Buy By Grade" print (1960)

In 1960-1963 there was a Department of Agriculture designer who very much liked thin black lines and red and black—witness this op-art gem as well as the stark Bannissons la Mammite! booklet. Additionally, this kind of economic-modernism-with-graphic-script also appears in the Our Food Costs booklet. I look forward to finding more work by this uncredited civil servant.

The Canada Department of Agriculture wordmark on this cover have been replaced with the words ”Canadian Home Economics” due to Section 9 of the Canadian Trademarks Act.
