“Jasper National Park” print by Anonymous (1935)

While the artist behind this pictorial map of Jasper and Mount Robson parks is unknown, I have to wonder if they imagined its gently criss-crossed, colour-coded detail still being attractive 90 years post-publication. The dreamy mountain blues and purples fade into a vignette of Alberta's most prominent peak, Mount Edith Cavell, which looks more like the painted backdrop from some mid-century holiday movie than an official commission from CN Rail.
